The Architecture Engineering Department, as an integral part of the Faculty of Engineering, MTI University, plays a crucial role in shaping the future of aspiring architectural engineers.
It was established in 2006 and since then, the department has been progressively developing to cope with international architecture engineering academic programs. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities including well-equipped design studios, computer labs and laser-cutting facilities. At the heart of the department is a team of highly qualified faculty members who are actively engaged in research and are regularly publishing papers in academic journals and conferences. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the students by guiding and mentoring them to reach their full potential, fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and encouraging critical thinking. Our academic program is designed to prepare students to be professional architects and engineers who are able to design, construct and manage the built environment. The curriculum is comprehensive and is updated regularly to ensure its alignment with building and construction industry demands. It combines theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, and exposure to the latest technological advancements in the field of architecture. It covers a wide range of topics including architectural design, theories and history of architecture, building construction, structural engineering, urban and town planning, green and sustainable architecture, smart buildings and making use of internet and advanced technology programs. We encourage cross-disciplinary student projects to collaborate with other departments. By the end of the final semester, the students culminate their knowledge in presenting B.Sc. project. The project enhances problem-solving skills, fosters creativity and innovation, regards human needs, addresses environmental issues, develops new technologies for the built environment and is designed for adaptability and resilience.
To complement our academic curriculum, we offer students a variety of extracurricular activities by engaging them in internships with architectural bureaus or construction companies. These real-world experiences allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical projects, gain industry exposure and develop professional skills. Moreover, students are encouraged to be involved in department activities as organizing exhibitions, seminars and workshops.
Being the head of the Architecture Engineering Department, I am proud of our students who are showing high interest in architecture and doing well in their studies, and also for graduated engineers who proved success in their jobs, wishing all faculty members a prosperous fruitful future.
